If you want to be happy, you need to take regular breaks and allow yourself to rest. The importance of vacation is often underestimated — we tend to fill our time off with so many activities that we forget to actually relax and unwind.
But scientific research shows that doing nothing is exactly what helps increase the production of happiness hormones.
There’s just one catch: studies have also shown that it takes about 8 days of vacation before you truly begin to relax. The longer the vacation, the more you recharge for the busy period ahead. So make sure to plan one!
