Making waffles always comes with a bit of suspense… will they turn out or not? These waffles are super easy to prepare and also incredibly tasty. Add some extra fruit and yogurt, and you’ve got yourself a perfect breakfast!
Ingredients (serves 2 – 2 waffles per person):
-
80 g whole wheat flour
-
2 eggs
-
200 g low-fat quark/yogurt (flavored if you like)
-
2 tsp baking powder
-
2 pinches of salt
Preparation:
The method is very simple. Preheat your waffle iron. Once it starts steaming, you’re ready to begin.
TIP: Beat the eggs beforehand — this makes the batter extra fluffy!
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk well.
Spray the waffle iron with some oil and pour in a portion of the batter. Don’t open the waffle iron until you see steam escaping.
And if you’re like me and LOVE extra crispy waffles… leave them in a bit longer for that crunchy texture.
Then comes the fun part — top the waffles with fresh fruit, quark, and maybe a drizzle of honey.
