Nothing says summer like a big pan of paella. But how do you make this classic Spanish seafood dish yourself?
It always includes rice, seafood like shrimp and mussels, and plenty of vegetables! The yellow color comes from turmeric, also known as curcuma.
Ingredients for 4 servings

2 onions

2 cloves of garlic

2 tablespoons oil

300 g brown rice

2 teaspoons turmeric

½ vegetable bouillon cube

2 green bell peppers

2 zucchinis

200 g (cherry) tomatoes

200 g mixed seafood

Paprika powder

Lemon juice
Preparation
Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Sauté them gently in the hot oil.
Add the rice and stir in the turmeric. Add 250 ml of water and the bouillon cube and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes.
Clean the bell peppers and zucchini, cut them into cubes, and mix them into the rice. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Wash and halve the cherry tomatoes.
Stir the tomatoes and seafood into the rice and heat thoroughly.
Season the paella with paprika powder and a splash of lemon juice.
Tip:
Feel free to vary the types of seafood you use. Shrimp are always a delicious choice!
