With this homemade iced tea, you’ll breeze through those hot days! And the best part? You only need two ingredients: water and tea. Because you’re using so few ingredients, the quality of the tea is key.
Which tea makes the tastiest iced tea depends on your personal taste. Green tea is always a great choice. Also delicious: a mix of green tea with dried summer fruits like apple, cherry, cranberry, or kiwi. Got a bag of rooibos tealying around? That works great too!
Add Extra Flavor
Give your iced tea a little something extra. Add a few slices of ginger for a kick. Or try orange, lemon, or lime. Even cucumber is a refreshing addition. Want to impress? Add fresh herbs — just let them steep briefly and don’t overdo it.
Our favorite combos:
-
tea + strawberries + lemon + basil
-
tea + peach + lime + rosemary
-
tea + raspberry + lemon + mint
-
tea + kiwi + lime + thyme
TIP: When using green tea, make sure your water is between 65–80°C (149–176°F). For black tea, aim for 85°C (185°F). Water temperature matters — otherwise your iced tea may turn out bitter.
Ingredients:
