LIIT – Low Intensity Interval Training
We’ve been doing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) for a while now—short, intense workouts of 15–20 minutes. But some exercises, like burpees, are very demanding. LIIT takes a different approach: workouts last 30–40 minutes but are less extreme and easier to sustain. It might involve different walking techniques—changing directions or varying speed to burn more energy. -
Self-Limiting Movement
This method focuses only on exercises where proper technique is essential. For example, a pull-up is hard to maintain without mastering the correct form. These exercises engage larger parts of the body, meaning you need fewer exercises overall, while developing functional strength and improving posture. -
Greater focus on the cool-down
Infrared saunas are gaining popularity for aiding muscle recovery and mental relaxation. Another new trend is cryotherapy, where the body is exposed to an ultra-cold mist for 1–3 minutes. It is believed to reduce inflammation and pain. Until cryotherapy is available near you, a cold shower is a great alternative.
